Introducing the Baltic HMS 002. A classic three-hand watch with 1940s influences.
Inspired by watches from the 1940s, the HMS 002 is a three-hand automatic watch with a step casing. With its characteristic finish—linear brushing on the side, circular brushing on the lugs, and mirror polishing on the final step of the case—it certainly exudes a contemporary vibe. Each variation of this watch catches the light beautifully, creating a straightforward but incredibly gorgeous case. Its 38mm diameter makes it the ideal dress watch.
The dial of the 002 has completely changed. Baltic intended for these dials to have a hint of "art-deco" and to adhere to their initial design inspiration from the 1940s. The dials have two distinct finishings: a sandy matte dial and a stepped circular brushed chapter ring.
The Miyota 8315 automated movement is now incorporated into the three models of Baltic's HMS 002 series. This calibre features a 60-hour power reserve, which is an additional 18 hours more than its predecessor (the Miyota 821A). Along with better performance, the finishes have also been enhanced: the anti-oxidation screws have been blued, and the precision parts are now more aesthetically pleasing.
The use of acrylic glass has given the HMS 002 a beautifully slender appearance. Baltic determined that 12 millimetres is the ideal thickness for a casing with proper proportions.
